Animating an Underground Map
Monday, May 10, 2010 at 6:20PM I came across this very interesting tutorial on how to create an animated underground ("subway" for us U.S folks) map by Thomas Prinzivalli on the AE Tuts site. What's also interesting are the comments at the end of the tutorial. True, it's a Motion tutorial on an After Effects site, but the comments seem really over the top to me. After Effects, Motion - they are just tools, everyone!

great ,thx, everyday I come to visit your web.
Thank you Mark.
Yes these comments seems a bit childish. I thought we are ONE family regardless of your weapon of choice.

Mark, your link to the AE site was brilliant. Lots of AE Tuts people are ticked off. Think of all the Motion people you might be steering to AE... who cares. I would have one of everything if I could afford it.
The concept is great, the tutorial is great. I often wonder how people start a Motion project. Seeing one that is all done is not the same as starting with a blank screen.
I have tried to learn from templates but it is hard. Your training movies are great too. Keep the info coming. Thanks
OMG! Hopefully this won't be going on an Avid ;)
BTW, It was great to finally meet you at the Media Motion Ball in Las Vegas this year!
The most incredible thing about the comments is that aetuts it´ s a free website with tons of nice AE tutorials and people are complaining because there is one motion tutorial. In fact most, most of the comments prove that those guys don´t know nothing about these programs or the motion graphics world. AE is more powerful than Motion but that doesn´ t mean that Motion is a useless app.
