Quick Tip: RTF Import and Scrolling Text

Motion 4 makes it easy to create scrolling credits by simply importing an RTF file and applying the scrolling text behavior. However, thing may not line up properly. This short video shows you how to make everything work nicely. You may want to click on the video to watch it in HD on YouTube. Oh, and if you subscribe to my site on the right, I'll send you a free RTF scrolling credits template for your next project to make things even easier.

Hi Mark ,

Just wondering about variable speeds in scrolling text. what's the best way to gain speed or slow? Also I'd like to slow then hold at the last frame?

Love your work,

regards,

John

John, you can do that using the Scrolling Text behavior - set the Speed to Custom and keyframe the parameters.

thanks, I think I have a problem though, when I go to add a keyframe it is greyed out, inactive, (that's after applying a scroll behaviour and choosing custom).I thought initially it may have something to do with the text having been copied from a word document so I then typed the text straight into Motion, it made no difference. Any ideas?

Odd, not sure, sorry.

I have a question, this formatting is great, good template. My problem is I have music that has been produced for this movie, as well as songs, how can I format the credit so that the songs run side by side so that I dont have ten minutes of songs running one after the other. To summarize I would like to know how to format this template so that the songs can run side by side versus up and down.

Thanks
